As a Server/Bartender at Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing, you will be an ambassador for the company. You will provide warm, personalised service and have an extensive knowledge of our food and beverage program as well as activity offerings. You are responsible for the guest’s well-being in our restaurant, lounge and patio. The responsibilities and qualifications of a Server/Bartender include but are not limited to the following:
JOB HIGHLIGHTS:
- Ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Provide in-depth knowledge of company’s products and services
- Taking orders, delivering food and beverages to guests in a timely manner
- Use proper serving techniques
- Prepare beverages using proper bartending techniques, including specialty coffees, wine service, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
- Clearing tables and re-setting for future guests
- Assisting guests with questions about the drink and food menu in an informative and helpful way
- Check on guest satisfaction
- Handle complaints and concerns of guests, bringing there to supervisor’s attention when necessary
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Execute a la carte and buffet service
- Practise responsible alcohol service
- Ensure the restaurant area is clean and tidy at all times
- Cash out and reconcile cash with total sales
- Responsible for bringing daily float to each shift
- Responsible for maintaining a cheerful, courteous disposition and a neat, clean and professional image with the ability to maintain a calm demeanour in a fast paced, high intensity environment
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties as per requirements and training
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Maintain set Health & Safety standards
- Operate according to the policies, procedures and quality standards established by the company
- Follow the regulations set forth by the B.C. Liquor Control and Licensing Branch
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
- Must have Serving it Right certificate or obtain one prior to commencing employment
- Required to be of legal age (19 years) to serve alcohol in British Columbia
- 2-3 years’ experience in restaurant and/or hospitality industry with strong knowledge of the food and beverage service process
- Possess excellent knowledge for highballs, cocktails, wine and beverages
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and customer service skills
- Must be a team player
- Responsible and dependable with a poised and friendly attitude
- Must have attention to detail and the ability to multitask
- Must be flexible in regards to scheduling and able to evening shifts, split shifts and weekends
- Fine dining experience and extensive wine knowledge is an asset
- Experience with POS systems is an asset
- Additional language skills are an asset
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Will be required to be on your feet for extended periods of time
- May be required to lift, bend and reach
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Note: Due to the nature of our business all members of the team may be required to take on additional responsibilities at times to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Compensation
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
